Mia’s Post departure

This study abroad trip to Italy has been one of the best experiences of my life! I was able to learn more about Italian history in the real world more than I ever could flipping through a book. I learned about the North and South divide and how the ecological differences greatly impacted the way they developed. I enjoyed reading about the olive oil, wine, and lemon as we were heavily immersed in this portion of culture. One highlight of my trip was our time spent in Orvieto. I was able to get into a routine, learn my order at Montanucci cafe and this is where I really began building friendships. I came into this experience with a fear I may not connect with anyone and it would truly be a solo experience. Fortunately, I was wrong! I met some pretty cool people that pushed me to be a better person and made me laugh uncontrollably. Another highlight was our time in Maiori, I loved the beach views and the sea breeze. What I learned most throughout this experience is that the world is big and full of diversity, love, and culture. I would like to thank all of the teachers and superiors for making this trip happen, I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
