Ella Rose's Pre-departure Post

 While the past few days have been hectic and filled with the nervous energy of preparing to go abroad, I've also had moments of pure excitement. These moments are when I think of making new friends while exploring a new country with my class, trying authentic Italian cuisine, or learning about a country's past while simultaneously exploring its present. 

Something I'm especially excited to learn about is organic farming in Italy. I work for a woman-owned organic farm in Tacoma, so it will be really interesting to compare practices between the two regions. I can't wait to visit the vineyards and sheep farm! 

I'm also interested to learn some Italian phrases and actually use them. Language is so fascinating and it's a great way to connect with locals.
